Terms and Conditions

Once we receive your completed booking form and deposit, your holiday will be reserved for you and your party.

Booking is confirmed when a 20% deposit of the total amount has been received and funds have cleared.

We reserve the right to cancel the booking if the deposit is not received.

Balance of the booking fee must be paid in full no less than 10 weeks prior to the travel date.

Failure to settle the balance will result in cancellation of the holiday and deposit will be retained by Les Basses Berthieres

The security deposit is required in case of damage to the property or its contents. However, the sum reserved by this clause does not limit your liability to us. We will account to you for the security deposit and refund the balance due within 2 weeks after the end of your stay with us.

If you cancel your confirmed booking, it will only be accepted in writing, signed by the Group Organiser and the following charges will apply:

Cancellation fee 10 weeks or more prior to travel date – deposit only
Cancellation fee 5 – 10 weeks prior to travel date – 50% of the total cost
Cancellation fee less than 5 weeks prior to travel – full cost of the holiday.

All travel arrangements / documents / insurances are your responsibility and we accept no responsibility for delays or cancellations of ferries, trains etc or discrepancies with paperwork.

Force Majeure: We will not be held liable for loss or delay caused by the following: Strikes, Political Unrest, Riots, Port Closures, War or Threat of, Terrorist Activity, Industrial Disputes, Fire, Flood, Technical / Weather Problems to Transportation, Acts of God or any other event(s) beyond our control.

If any changes are required to the confirmed booking we will try and be as flexible as possible.

All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Jurisdiction: Receipt of the booking form constitutes acceptance of a contract on these terms subject to French Law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the French Courts.

We reserve the right to terminate your holiday booking, if you are in any way causing a disturbance or harm to other people, grounds, lake, property and animals. You will not be liable to a refund / compensation and you may incur costs for any damage.

The rental period shall commence at 4.00 pm on the first day and finish at 10.00 am on the last day. We will not be obliged to offer the accommodation before the time stated and you will not be entitled to remain in occupation after the time stated.

All fishing gear left unattended round the lake is your responsibility and the owners will not be liable for any loss / damage.

You agree to be a good tenant and take good care of Les Basses Berthieres and to leave it in a clean and tidy condition at the end of the rental period. We reserve the right to make a retention from the security deposit to cover additional cleaning costs if you leave Les Basses Berthieres in an unacceptable condition. You also agree not to act in any way which would cause disturbance to those resident in neighbouring properties.

Under no circumstances shall our liability to you exceed the amount paid to us for the rental period.
Use of the boat is at your risk and a life jacket must be worn at all time. Les Basses Berthieres cannot be held responsible for any injuries caused.

Complaints Procedure: If you consider you have cause for complaint whilst at Les Basses Berthieres, please notify the owners immediately. In most cases problems can be resolved if this procedure is followed. Failure to notify the owners at the time could result in complaints being dismissed.

France has a rigid recycling regime, and we ask you to adhere to this. If you do not and we have to spend time sorting your rubbish, a charge of 30euros per hour will  be deducted from your deposit.
This will be explained to you, if in any doubt please ask.

Any pets must be kept under control at all times and any mess must be cleared by you.
